Overview

Assemble and pack wood crates to ship orders of metal overhead steel doors and door components.

Responsibilities

  • Verify dimensions needed for shipping crates using shipping report.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust a variety of woodworking machines such as skill saws and radical arm saws to cut and shape wood sections according to specifications.
  • Fit, fasten, and assemble wood parts together to form crate using air-powered nail gun.
  • Pack crate with metal parts for steel doors listed to be shipped to customer from shipping report.
  • Pack crate with insulation to ensure steel parts do not move inside crate during shipping.
  • Fasten address/shipping label to crate.
  • Use air powered hand tools such as drills and screw guns.
  • Keep work area clean and neat.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to two years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
  • Basic reading, writing and math, including reading a tape measure, skills required.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Experience operating radial arm saws.

 

PHSYCIAL DEMANDS

  • Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, and bend.
