Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers, such as inspectors, machine operators, assemblers, fabricators, and material handlers, etc.
Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production of goods.
Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities between departments.
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production to meet goals.
Make decisions regarding hiring, discipline, coaching, promotion and termination of staff.
Perform reviews of staff and make recommendations regarding pay increases.
Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
Observe work to ensure that operators conform to production standards.
Conduct training in equipment operations or safety procedures.
Interpret specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
Read and analyze records and reports to determine production requirements.
Enforce safety and housekeeping regulations.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications
High school degree or equivalent required. Three to five years previous work-related experience.
Computer skills required; Outlook email, production systems, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
