Overview

The Sourcing Manager is responsible for all types of sourcing including, but not limited to, identifying cost-saving opportunities, creating competitive environments, effectively negotiating, and creating contracts to ensure continuous availability of all required products to support the company demand.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies situations in advance where procurement involvement can increase.
  • Plans and manages the company’s overall sourcing strategy in collaboration with senior management.
  • Creates strategic sourcing plans for the smooth functioning of the department.
  • Support supplier segmentation, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), and quarterly supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers.
  • Identify gaps in goals and collaboratively develop and support countermeasures and activities to close the gap and exceed targets.
  • Work with suppliers to address significant and/or systemic issues with performance (quality, delivery, warranty, etc.) as may be required in support of plant Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality teams.
  • Manage reporting of Procurement financial metrics (forecast and actual) including productivity and inflation for responsible plants or projects
  • Support compliance initiatives and policy deployment.
  • Writes sourcing documentation and statements.
  • Develop a sourcing plan so that fast and effective sourcing operations are possible.
  • Negotiates pricing and control costs.
  • Develops and administers an efficient global supply chain and monitors inventories for all global products and assists in increasing growth.
  • Conducts market research, as well as creating cost estimates and forecasts.
  • Estimates & balances risk through dual sourcing & strategic relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration preferred.
  • Proven work experience as a Sourcing Manager for more than 5 years
  • Proficiency in sourcing metal components
  • Outstanding negotiation abilities
  • 25% Travel is required.
