Buyer - Asta

Maintain proper inventory levels for all Production materials by reviewing historical usage and upcoming demand to determine needed purchase order quantities.  Coordinate with suppliers on timely delivery, quality and other issues as they arise.

• Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
• Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers.
• Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
• Perform buying duties when necessary.
• Review open purchase orders regularly and coordinate with vendors for any resolutions needed.
• Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
• Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
• Set up new vendors and/or suppliers.
• Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.
• Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
• Conduct research, compile data, and prepare reports for consideration and presentation.
• Contribute to team effort by assisting with additional tasks as needed.

• College degree in business preferred.
• Three to five years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
• Intermediate computer skills required; Outlook email, Word, Excel.
• Strong analytical and data processing skills with high attention to details.
