Inspect raw materials, work-in-process, assembled parts or finished products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications either in-plant or at customer locations.
Responsibilities
Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, gauges, calipers, micrometers or measuring tapes.
Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems.
Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
Perform visual inspections of finished products.
Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.
Analyze production samples to evaluate quality.
Analyze quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff.
Stop production if serious product defects are present.
Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
Examine customer returns to determine reason and complete Return Authorization form.
Log daily production quality reports.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three to five years previous work-related experience.
Regularly required to walk, stand, and bend in a manufacturing environment.
Computer skills required; Outlook email, production systems, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 150 pounds.
