Overview

The Director of Logistics & Compliance will oversee the Company’s logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of goods and adherence to global trade, transportation, and warehousing regulations. They will deliver the day-to-day operational execution for logistics, transportation and fulfillment; analyze logistics and transportation networks to reduce overall costs; support continuous improvement in productivity and ensure compliance with all applicable trade laws, tariff analysis and Janus’s global trade compliance program. The director is also expected to set and achieve targets and cost positions while ensuring on-time service.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize product flow from suppliers to customers, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Ensure full compliance with international trade laws, import/export controls, customs requirements, and other global regulations.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and other vendors involved in the supply chain.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.
  • Stay informed about changes in trade regulations and ensure the company's processes adapt in a timely manner.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential logistics and compliance risks, ensuring business continuity.
  • Work closely and cohesively with other companies and departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Lead and manage logistics personnel, fostering strong team performance and adherence to operational standards. 
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

 

JOB SKILLS:

  • Five to seven years of relevant experience with prior success building a Logistics & Trade Compliance Program.
  • Understanding of TMS, WMS, real-time transportation visibility platforms (RTTVP) and other supply chain systems.
  • Leadership experience, including managing a team, as well as effectively influencing other teams, if required.
  • Working knowledge of governmental requirements related to the chemical industry (i.e., U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Unites States, Mexico, Canada Agreement (USMCA), etc.).

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required. A college degree in business is preferred.
  • Computer skills required: Outlook email, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
